Christmas Spirit

Finally it's December and I'm so excited for Christmas, I've been doing a few Christmas pictures during November and I just can't to post them!

Anyways enough of that, Some of you may be familiar with this character as I drew her last year.

Yes, she is a Christmas Spirit, though not literally a spirit but you get the idea.



The Christmas Spirit, which can also be known as the Christmas Tree, is a one of a kind Earthborn species born every year on exactly the first of December as soon as the clock strikes midnight. It has a natural gift of spawning presents underneath it or near locals doors. While it makes the decision on who gets the gift or not. It'll grant anyone a wish each day to anything they desire which is commonly money or more presents.

Its appearance resembles, of course, a Christmas tree, with legs, a head and arms. The tinsel around its neck acts as a scarf, and a pair of sparkly and fragile arms. In one hand, a magic candy cane is treated like a weapon, or used to reach high places. It can also be treated as a lantern holder. The star on the top of its head is where the magic comes from. It is the star which you must wish upon, to grant your first present of the day. It also has lights underneath its body, and on its sides. It likes to dress itself in decorations.

For most of its life, it spends the majority of its time keeping the citizens happy. If there are no people about, it'll simply just enjoy decorating evergreen trees or its own body, relaxing in the snow, or befriending woodland creatures. Christmas Spirits are immune to the harsh winters, and they’ll never want to be around anything that produces heat and fire, as it can easily overheat and burn its very delicate body.

When it's first born, it is often confused and afraid of its surroundings, but the species can find its purpose very quickly, and it can learn many things in a few days, such as granting wishes, and speaking proper English. As it ages, it becomes more sociable and outgoing.

While it tries to make the most of its life, the unfortunate Christmas Spirits have only a very short lifespan. Born in a middle of town, in a beautifully decorated garden, it lives from the first of December until midnight on the twenty sixth, just as soon as Christmas is done. Then, it'll fade away into the sky and die, leaving nothing but a dim star behind. A new Christmas Spirit will be sprouting where the previous Christmas Spirit was born. In the middle of a toy town, this process will continue, next Christmas, to repeat itself like a life cycle.
